Postmodelism? Dutch political culture and society in present socio-historical
publications
The review article covering publications since 2009 presents selected Dutch and German publications focussing on the social constructions of Dutchness, Dutch nationbuilding, political culture, intellectual, and contemporary history including aspects of the history of technology and design. Dutch politics of the last decade (Fortuyn crisis 2002, Geert Wilders) have seriously shaken the confidence in the historically aggregated Dutch political model of institutionalized tolerance and government by discussion. One of the results is a tendency in Dutch historical and political sciences to re-evaluate and redefine Dutch historical experience and identity.
