Abstract
Between Power and Domination
Traditionally, there is a close link between power and domination. Since the power-theoretical turn in the late 1960s and early 1970s (due to the relevant work of Hannah Arendt, Niklas Luhmann and Michel Foucault) models of structural and constitutive power replace increasingly such of oppression and agency. Thereby the traditional concept of power based on the idea of physical causality is theoretically revised in principle. This essay deals with recent publications in the field of power theory by insisting on a strong conceptual difference between power and domination.
