Abstract
Historiography concerned with the so-called Ostforschung has experienced a substantial expansion during the last years. While most of the studies in this particular field continue to exert a biographical approach or analyse Ostforschung’s respective institutions, more and more researchers use concepts and methods affiliated with science history. Those new concepts led to a broader view on Ostforschung, which is no longer considered a separate discipline but rather an essential part of current ideas and overall concepts. While the interest in scandalous disclosures and corresponding rhetoric is thus continuously declining, disciplinary boundaries are overcome and established time spans are broadened.
